Matt leads Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund, a $2B investment program focused on supporting companies building new technologies that make the goal of becoming net-zero achievable. An experienced technology executive, Matt joined Amazon in 2006 as a member of the company’s Corporate Development group, where he helped develop and execute M&A and investment strategies for multiple business units. In addition, he led product development for a number of new initiatives involving digital media and advertising. Prior to Amazon, Matt worked in private equity and co-founded an Internet startup. He also implemented microcredit lending programs for small businesses in Central America as a Peace Corps volunteer. Matt received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Dartmouth College and an MBA, with concentrations in business strategy and analytical finance, from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
