Dr. Carlos Romero Talamás is a physicist and fusion energy researcher dedicated to making fusion power more accessible, affordable, and reliable. He holds a B.S. in Engineering Physics from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, a Master’s in Space Studies from the International Space University (Strasbourg, France), and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Applied Physics from Caltech. Carlos worked in the sustained spheromak physics experiment (SSPX) at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, before moving to Maryland to work on centrifugal mirrors, and becoming a professor at UMBC.
