Julie Wolf is the CSO Communications Director of IndieBio NY, where she promotes breakthrough biotech applications and the founders who develop them. She uses social media, audio, video, written content, and live events to engage with audiences and empowers enterprising scientists to do the same.

Prior to joining IndieBio, Julie worked in communications for the American Society for Microbiology. She has built multi-partner communities around science education, application, and entrepreneurship in the nonprofit, academic, and startup fields. She also hosted the popular podcast Meet the Microbiologist.

Julie was part of the founding team at synthetic biology start-up Brooklyn Bio Inc., and she maintains a strong commitment to scientific education and teaches molecular biology at the New York community biolab, Genspace.

Julie earned her Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Minnesota and has 15 years experience in molecular biology as a research scientist. She is passionate about making science accessible and relevant to everyone.
